Hit them baby, one more time.
Britney Spears blasted her family yet again in an Instagram post shared Friday.
In a lengthy caption reflecting on her newfound freedom, the pop superstar, 39, teased that she is sitting on a vault of sordid stories about relatives who sat by as she endured the grueling conditions of a 13-year conservatorship.
“Lord have mercy on my family’s souls if I ever do an interview!!!” she wrote, though she added that a tell-all isn’t currently at the top of her to-do list.
“In the meantime … I’m staying clear of the business 💼 which is all I’ve ever known my whole life … which is why this is so very confusing for me!!!” she wrote.
The entertainer, whose career began in 1993 at age 11 as a Disney Mouseketeer, previously slammed her family for being complicit in the continuation of the legal arrangement established by her estranged father, Jamie Spears, in 2008.
“If you’re like my family who says things like ‘sorry, you’re in a conservatorship’ … probably thinking you’re different [from you] so they can f–k with you !!!!” she wrote of their collective inaction in an Oct. 5 Instagram post.
After a hard-fought battle by Britney and her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, Jamie, 69, was finally suspended from the conservatorship on Sept. 29. A hearing to address its termination altogether is scheduled for Nov. 12.
While addressing the court in June, Britney expressed anger that her family did “not do a goddamn thing” to help her after alleging that, under Jamie’s control, she was forced into a mental health facility, forced to take lithium and forced to have an IUD contraceptive inserted, all against her will.
Though Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, has championed her daughter’s freedom in court, her support didn’t come until after the #FreeBritney movement launched in 2019.
Britney’s older brother, Bryan Spears, called the conservatorship a “great thing” for his family in a July 2020 podcast interview.
Meanwhile, Britney’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, has insisted she supports the Grammy winner’s liberation from the conservatorship, despite widespread fan speculation that she doesn’t.
“If ending the conservatorship… or whatever the hell else she wants to do to be happy, I support that,” Jamie Lynn said on Instagram in June after facing backlash for staying silent on the matter.
Since then, Britney has repeatedly taken jabs at Jamie Lynn, 30, on social media. Most recently, the “Toxic” singer seemingly shaded the “Zoey 101” alum for changing her memoir title from a classic song lyric of hers to “Things I Should’ve Said.”
Of course, Britney’s dad has resisted the dissolution of the conservatorship for years. A disgruntled Jamie even called her supporters “conspiracy theorists” during an August 2020 interview with The Post.
Britney’s Friday social media message also included her feelings about regaining control of her personal, medical and financial affairs.
“I’ll just be honest and say I’ve waited so long to be free from the situation I’m in … and now that it’s here I’m scared to do anything because I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake !!!” she wrote, echoing former claims that she was told the conservatorship “could end” if she complied with her team’s wishes.
“It never did !!!” she continued. “I worked so hard but now that it’s here and getting closer and closer to ending I’m very happy but there’s a lot of things that scare me 😬 !!!”
Britney acknowledged that she is currently fearful of invasive paparazzi who stake outside of her gated community in Los Angeles’ Thousand Oaks enclave.
“The paps run through the trees 🌳 and onto the road 🛣 when I drive home and it’s creepy !!!!” she wrote. “I don’t like that they try to scare me and jump out like they do … it’s like they want me to do something crazy 🤷🏼♀️ !!!”
Elsewhere, Britney emphasized that she hasn’t done anything to “be treated the way” she has for the past decade-plus. “I’m disgusted with the system and wish I lived in another country !!!”
The former Las Vegas headliner’s caption was accompanied by a photo of a Christmas tree in her living room.
“I’m celebrating Christmas 🎄 way early this year … because why not ???!!! I believe any reason to find more joy in life is a good idea,” she explained. “And it’s no secret that I’ve been through it in the past … so I might have to do things a little differently from now on !!!”
